Add-ons to the Lecture Program

In a previous news post, we already introduced you to Surgery Dr. Tux; in this one, we’d like to give you an overview of our other Add-Ons.

For the last-minute crowd, there’s once again the opportunity to submit Lightning Talks this year. If you didn’t have a chance to submit a presentation or have a small project you’d like to showcase, this is the perfect place to tell us about it on Sunday morning. Lightning Talks must be submitted to the organizing team and will then be selected by lottery. You can find the exact details on the Lightning Talk website.

There will again be a bulletin board with job postings on-site, but you can also start browsing the Job Advertisements right now.

For many years now, the Linux Professional Institute has been offering exams for recognized certification standards in Linux and free software at the Chemnitzer Linux-Tage. These exams will take place on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. To participate, registration is required. You can find more information about the exams offered and the registration link under LPI Certificate.

During the PGP Party, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in a keysigning session for your public PGP key. This encryption technology is one of the best known and is used to protect your messages so that only the intended recipient can read them. The public key that is the focus of the PGP Party encrypts your message for the recipient, who then owns a private key with which they can read the content. You can find more information about PGP, the necessary preparations, and the process for participating on the PGP Party website.

We’ve heard that there are always a few true night owls among you who want to party hard between the event days. This year, unfortunately, you’ll have one hour less to celebrate (we tried our best, but couldn’t stop the change to daylight saving time), but if the Linux-Tage aren’t enough for you, just head over to the Lokomov Bar for Linux-Nacht!
